iPipeline, the Exton insurance software firm backed by $18 million from Radnor’s NewSpring Capital and more from Boston’ Fidelity Ventures, has sued Florida-based rival Blue Frog Solutions in US federal court in Philadelphia for violating “U.S. Patent No. 7,689,444 entitled ‘Electronic Insurance Application Fulfillment System and Method,’” which iPipeline was awarded March 30. The national law firm Woodcock Washburn represents iPipeline.
No comment from Blue Frog yet, and no word from iPipeline on how much it figures it lost from the alleged patent boosting.
